Alfred D. Hurt '26
Inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame 1971.
- President of the Monogram Club in 1926
- Earned varsity letters in football, basketball and baseball
- In 1924, he captained the football team and was regarded as one of Roanoke’s greatest fullbacks and quarterbacks
- Played guard on the basketball teams of 1923 and 1924
- Played second base and catcher on baseball squads from 1924 and 1926
- He holds the Silver Beaver Award in Scouting
- Recipient of Freedom Foundation Award
- Chosen Roanoke Valley Father of Year in Civic Affairs in 1966
