Hall of Fame
Elwood D. Fox '46
Inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame 1972.
- Member of the Monogram Club
- Excelled in football as a guard and quarterback in 1939, 40, and 46, when he returned from the armed forces during World War II
- For four years, he served as Athletic and Recreation Officer in the U.S. Air Force
- In 1947, he instituted the soccer program at Roanoke College producing a long list of winning teams and several All-American candidates
- From 1959-70, he directed the fortunes of the track team
- Besides soccer and track, his coaching extended to baseball, golf and JV basketball
