James Smith Lough '64

Inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame 1972.

  • Member of the Monogram Club for four years
  • Received Slater Award as the Most Outstanding Athlete in 1961 and '62
  • Outstanding Swimmer Award in 1961
  • Captained the swimming team in 1960 and '61
  • Set student and pool records in the 220 and 440 yard freestyle, 200 yard butterfly, and 160 and 220 yard individual medley
  • Student records were also set in the 400 medley relay and 400 yard freestyle
  • Coached Roanoke swim team in 1968 and '69
