Richard J. Emberger '60
Inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame 1971.
- One of Roanoke College’s most distinguished athletes
- Member for four years of the cross country team, swimming team, and the track and field squad
- Co-captain in each sport
- Set Virginia State records in the high jump, high hurdles, both indoor and outdoor.
- During college, received 11 varsity letters
- Member of the San Diego Track Club
- 1963 - Member of the U.S. Track Team
- 1964 - Represented the U.S. at Olympics participating in the Decathlon, placing 10th among all participants
