Inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame 1971.
- President of the Monogram Club
- Co-captain of State Championship basketball team in 1948
- Selected first-team All-State in 1948
- Famous for a driving lay-up shot
- Was instrumental in re-establishing the track and field program at Roanoke
- Participated in the high jump and broad jump
- After leaving Roanoke, he served as both a scout and as a recruiter
