MAROONS CLIMB INTO DIVISION III NATIONAL POLL
Team Starts Season 2-0-1, Last in the National Tally on October 6, 2003

SALEM, VA--After opening its season with a 2-0-1 overall record, the Roanoke College men’s soccer team jumped into the national polls this week, earning the 25th spot in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division III poll. The Maroons were last in the national rankings when they were released on October 6, 2003. The Maroons were rated 23rd in that poll, but dropped out the following week.

The team opened up its 2004 season with two wins in three games. The squad beat Ferrum College and then SUNY-Fredonia 1-0 in the first round of the Domino’s Classic in Salem, VA. In the third game, the Maroons earned a 0-0 tie with Arcadia (PA) University.

The Maroons are also ranked fourth in the NSCAA South Region rankings. The complete September 7, 2004 NSCAA Division III national poll is as follows:
