MAROONS MAKE FIRST APPEARANCE IN REGIONAL POLL
Maroons Look to Improve on 3-0 Record at This Weekend's Comfort Suites Showcase

SALEM, VA--By getting its season off to a 3-0 start, the Roanoke College women’s soccer team earned a spot in this week’s National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). The Maroons are the fifth ranked team in this week’s regional ranking, marking the first time since early in the 2003 season that the team has appear in the poll.

Roanoke will look to improve on its 3-0 record this coming weekend as it hosts the Third Annual Comfort Suites Showcase. The Maroons will play Worcester (MA) State at 12:00pm on Saturday and then will take on Chowan (NC) College at the same time on Sunday. All matches in the tournament will be played at Roanoke’s Elizabeth Campus fields. The Maroons have already posted wins over Southern Virginia, Millsaps, and Rhodes College, which is ranked 10th in this week’s regional poll.
