Roanoke Wins ODAC Women's Commissioner's Cup
Maroons Finish Second in Overall Race
SALEM, Va.--Behind a first place finish from the women's athletic program, Roanoke College took second place in the 1999 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Commissioner's Cup. The Cup is awarded to the school in the conference that has posted the best overall athletic results. The Roanoke women's program took home its fourth title (in seven all-time presentations of the award), outdistancing second place Washington & Lee by two points, 62-60. The Maroons were conference champions in soccer, softball, and lacrosse during the 1998-99 athletic season.
Overall, Roanoke was second in the CC race, coming in a close second to Washington & Lee in the closest race in the history of the award, 107-104.5. This is the second year in a row that the Maroons have placed second in the overall competition.
