Bad Weather Wipes Out Several RC Events
Softball Postponed, Golf Cancelled
SALEM, Va.--Becuase of bad weather throughout the region, several Roanoke College athletic events have been cancelled or postponed. After seeing its scheduled meeting with Averett rained out on Sunday, the Roanoke College softball team has had its double-header with Eastern Mennonite, scheduled for Monday, postponed. No make-up date has been set yet. The Maroons will play Averett this coming Wednesday (March 17th) at the Moyer Sports Complex in Salem. The Maroons are currently 3-4, and have yet to play a league contest. The squad will also be in action this weekend at the Ferrum College Tournament. The Maroons will not have to travel far, the event is taking place at Moyer.
The bad weather also forced the cancellation of the Ferrum College Golf Invitational that the Roanboke College golf squad was supposed to participate in. The team will return to the course on March 24th when it travels to the Lexington Country Club in Lexington, VA to play in the Washington & Lee Invitational.
