Casey Smith Wins ODAC Championship
RC Men Second, Women Third at Conference Meet

LEXINGTON, VA—Casey Smith (Mechanicsville, VA/Atlee) highlighted Roanoke College's performance at the 2000 Old Dominion Athletic Conference cross country championships on Saturday, winning her second consecutive women's title and grabbing conference Runner of the Year honors. Smith helped the RC women to a third place finish, out of seven teams, while the RC men were second of seven. Smith won the 2000 title by running a time of 19:13, 13 seconds faster than the second place runner. Alli McVey and Jenny Kincaid each earned a spot on the First Team All-Conference squad with their runs on Saturday. McVey finished fourth overall with a time of 20:07, while Kincaid was sixth overall, posting a time of 20:24.
On the men's side, Jason Belt (Lancaster, PA/Lancaster Country Day) was RC's top runner, taking 10th place, running the course in 28:41. The Maroons also took 14th, 15th, 16th, and 18th places, but finished 40 points behind conference champion Lynchburg College.
