Maroons Ranked #19 In Nation

RC Takes 3-0 Record to Task on Wednesday vs. Sweet Briar

SALEM, VA--The Roanoke College field hockey is ranked 19th in the country in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III national poll which was released on Tuesday. This is the first poll of the season. The Maroons were ranked as high as number-15 in the nation last season and finished as the highest ranked team in the country that did not receive an NCAA bid.

The Maroons are currently 3-0 overall and 2-0 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference contests. RC heads into Wednesday’s ODAC showdown with Sweet Briar with a 210-minute shutout streak on the line. The Maroons have not allowed a goal in any of their three games and are outshooting opponents, 120-7. Sweet Briar enters Wednesday’s game with a 3-0 record, with all the wins coming against league foes. The game at RC’s Elizabeth Campus fields starts at 4:30pm.
