Hollett Sets Records at ODAC Meet
Maroon Women Place Third, Men Fourth

LYNCHBURG, VA--Roanoke College junior Emily Hollett set two meet records, just two of the highlights for the Maroons at the 2000 Old Dominion Athletic Conference indoor track & field championships. Overall, the women placed third at the meet, the men fourth. Hollett set the meet records in the long and triple jumps on Saturday. In the long jump she recorded a ditance of 11' 11.75", breaking the old mark of 17' 11.5". She then went on to better the mark in the triple jump with a distance of 37', breaking the old mark by almost three inches. Her two first place finshes were matched on the women's side by two firsts by fellow junior Casey Smith, who won both the one and two mile races.
Also on the women's side, Rebekah Driver and Sarah Vaughan placed second and third in the shot put. Driver had a throw of 33' 5.5", while Vaughan had a toss of 32' 7.25". Shelli Stevens and Steph Dannemann had similar finshes in the 55 meter hurdles. Stevens came in second (8.84 seconds), while Dannemann was third (9.45).
Blake Dalton highlighted the men's fourth place finish with a first in the one mile run, crossing the tape in 4:37.70. He also had a fourth place run in the two mile race (10:23.76). Ryan Nunley finished third in te men's 55 meter hurdles, placing behind two other runners with a time of 8.30.
