Maroons Ranked 20th in Nation

RC Jumps from Nation's Unranked After 4-0 Start

SALEM, VA--After getting no votes in the first two National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division III polls (preseason and Week 1), the Roanoke College men’s soccer team has jumped up to the 20th spot in the second regular season tally. The Maroons jump to the 20 spot after getting their season off to a 4-0 start. This is the first time since the 1998 season that the Maroons have found themselves ranked among the nation’s elite Division III programs. In addition to their national ranking, the Maroons have been rated third in the South Region.

Roanoke started off its season with a 5-0 victory over LaRoche (PA) College in the Roanoke/Domino’s Classic. The squad then followed the next day with a 5-0 victory over Cabrini (PA) College. This past weekend the Maroons defeated Bethany (WV) College, 2-1, and Southern Maine, 6-0, to improve to 4-0 on the season. The Maroons open the Old Dominion Athletic Conference portion of their schedule on Wednesday when they host Emory & Henry College at 4:00 pm.
