Volleyball Splits Matches on trip to Virginia Wesleyan
Virginia Beach, Va. --- Roanoke College volleyball split their matches today in a tri-match with Virginia Wesleyan and North Greenville. The Maroons lost to the Marlins, 3-1 in ODAC action but turned around and defeated North Greenville (NCAA Div. II) 3-1 in the second match.

Virginia Wesleyan uphends Roanoke, 3-1
Virginia Beach, Va. --- Roanoke was defeated by Virginia Wesleyan, 3-1 in field hockey action this afternoon. The women fall to 1-9 overall and 0-3 in the ODAC while the Marlins improved to 2-7, 2-0 in the ODAC. The Maroons are now 11-7 in the series but the Marlins have won five of the last six meetings.

Virginia Wesleyan tops Roanoke, 3-0
Virginia Beach, Va. --- Courtney Whorten and Jerilyn Sweeney led Virginia Wesleyan past Roanoke, 3-0 in ODAC action on Saturday afternoon. The Maroons dropped to 5-5-1, 3-2 in the ODAC while the Marlins improved to 5-2-1, 5-0-1 in ODAC play.

Roanoke gets historic win over #18 Salisbury
SALISBURY, Md. – Roanoke Men’s Soccer scored early and held on to defeat #18 Salisbury, 1-0 at the Salisbury Soccer Complex this afternoon. It was the Maroons first win in the series since 1997 as they are now 4-5 against the Sea Gulls.

Roanoke Men place Second, Women Third at Lenoir-Rhyne Invitational
Newton, N.C --- The men’s and women’s cross country teams placed second and third, respectively at the Lenior-Rhyne Invitational this morning at Southside Park. Ian Robinson and Alex Knutsen made the medal stand as they finished third and fourth, respectively in the meet.

Roanoke Volleyball Ranks Nationallly
Salem, VA --- The Roanoke College volleyball team has jumped out to a great start in the 2008 season. The squad currently boasts a 13-2 record that includes high profile victories over Maryville (TN), Greensboro, and ODAC foe Bridgewater.

Maroons fall to RMC 2-1
Salem, VA --- The Roanoke College men’s soccer team fell to Randolph-Macon tonight in a 2-1 decision at Donald J. Kerr Stadium. The Maroons fell to 5-3-1 overall and 2-1 in the ODAC while the Yellow Jackets improved to 3-7-1 and 2-1.

Women’s Cross Country Ranked in USTFCCCCA South/Southeast Poll
New Orleans, La. --- The Roanoke College women’s cross country team is ranked in the USTFCCCA South/Southeast Poll for the fourth-straight week announced last evening. The Maroons are ranked 10th in the poll.

Maroons sweep Randolph, 3-0
Salem, Va. --- The Roanoke College volleyball team defeated Randolph, 3-0 in ODAC competition on Tuesday evening. The Maroons improved to 13-2, 3-2 in the ODAC while the Wildcats dropped to 5-16, 0-6 in the ODAC.
