ROM = Read Only Memory. Computer data that
can be accessed and viewed, but is not meant to be deleted or altered.

CLOSED-FORMAT = A type of educational software
program that has only one correct answer. [2]

OPEN-FORMAT = A type of educational software
program that has no single correct answer; many answers are possible. [2]

MUSIC THEORY = The
study chords, harmony, melody, rhythm and texture; the nuts and bolts of
music.

PITCH MASTER = A computer
software program that helps in the instruction of on pitch singing.
The student sings into a microphone and if the pitch is correct the student
hears a 'reinforcing tone' and a needle shows whether or not it is in the
'acceptable' range. If the note is incorrect, no reinforcing tone is heard
and the needle shows how flat or how sharp the sung note is. [2]
