2002 Fisher Lecture and
Lab Dedication

Dr. James McGrath and Dr. Charles H. Fisher

January 23, 2002:  Organic Chemistry Laboratory Renovation dedicated and named!  The Chemistry Department is pleased to announce the naming of the remodeled organic chemistry laboratory as the Dr. Charles H. Fisher Laboratory of Organic Chemistry.  The lab has an all new design, including three full walls of fume hoods, one hood for every two students.  The laboratory was named in honor of Dr. Charles H. Fisher.  Click here to see the dedication plaque text, in PDF format.

This naming was announced in conjunction with the 2002 Charles H. Fisher Lecture.  The speaker was Dr. James McGrath, who gave a fascinating lecture on "Polymer Electrolyte Membrane (PEM) Nanocomposites for Fuel Cells."  The photos shown here were taken at the special dedication preceding the public lecture, and at the lecture.
