UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH ASSISTANTSHIPS

The Roanoke College Undergraduate Research Assistant Program enables selected freshmen in the Class of 2009 to assist faculty in conducting research projects during the freshman year. It offers students many advantages in pursuit of graduate or professional school opportunities of the highest caliber. The program was announced by President Sabine U. O’Hara at her inaugural ceremony in October. Over 125 applications have been received for the 10 research projects.

Faculty members will select the students for the research projects, and the students will begin working next fall after the beginning of their freshman year. Undergraduate research assistants will receive a stipend of $2,000 for their freshman year. Faculty will conduct scheduled phone interviews with applicants during February with announcement of selected assistants during the first week of March. Additional information is located at www.roanoke.edu/undergradresearch.
