The
French Minor
A minor in French consists of six units,
including:
-
French 201 and 201, or two electives above the
205 level;
-
French 301 or 302 or 402 (an upper-level language
course);
-
French 311 or 312 or 314 (a civilization and
culture course);
-
two electives to be selected from French courses
numbered at or above the 300 level or Linguistics 201.
Each minor will be individually tailored to
complement the student's interests and major field of study.
A period of study abroad in a French-speaking
country is highly recommended. Students are encouraged to consider
the opportunities available through CREPUQ, ISEP and May Term courses,
and to consult with a department faculty member and the Director of International
Programs about the many options.
