-
Command of at least one foreign language and
in-depth knowledge of cultures other than our own are increasingly important
to graduates who seek to make a difference in the world.
-
Based on personal interest and academic/professional
goals, Roanoke College students choose to acquire this knowledge of foreign
languages and cultures in a variety of ways and in varying degrees.
The basic foreign language requirement, the foreign language majors and
minors, and a myriad of study abroad experiences provide all students with
many challenging and exciting ways to prepare for a lifetime as citizens
of the world.
-
Each student is encouraged to consult with a
member of the department about how best to incorporate foreign language
study into her/his own curriculum.
