1. We discussed and agreed to forward to Curriculum Committee our recommendations for the catalog numbering system for Intensive Learning courses, based on our work last year and the results of the faculty forums and survey in April of 1999. Since it is unclear whether this is a votable or reportable item, we will also forward copies of the proposed system to the Chairs of ASC and FAC for their advice.
2. We looked at course proposals for May of 2000 from Professors Au, Long, Saunders, and Rubongoya. The ILG chair will confer with each of these people sometime this week and relay ILG's questions and suggestions to them. At that point, with the concurrence of ILG, the proposals will be forwarded to the Curriculum Committee. It is our intention to forward each proposal as it is completed, so that CC will not receive large numbers of proposals too near the October faculty meeting.
3. A point of information: we hope to appoint a student member for our group next week. The ILG chair will be interviewing candidates this week.
4. Later in the week, additional course proposals for May of 2000 will be forwarded to members, for discussion at our next meeting.
