Intensive Learning Task Force

Minutes of the Meeting of
October 12, 1999

Present: Alessa, Gonzalez, Crawford, Simmons, Lee, Hardwig

1. We discussed a tentative timetable for our work the remainder of the semester. We have to do: a) A Statement of Purpose, Outcomes Objectives for Students, and Assessment Mechanisms draft as a part of the SACS self-study work. b) We need to make recommendations for all of those things other than the May 2000 courses; that is, independent study/internship, non-traditional students, etc.

2. We examined Jacqui Keil's course proposal and approved it for forwarding to the Curriculum Committee.

3. The Chair reported that several questions about pre-registration had been answered. For the international travel courses, pre-registration will proceed in the customary way. For on-campus and domestic travel courses, the screens will be turned off until freshmen pre-registration begins. After the close of pre-registration, available slots will be filled using the drop/add process.

4. Our next meeting will take place on Tues, Nov 2, as there is a faculty meeting at our customary meeting time on the Tues before.
