Intensive Learning Task Force

Minutes of the Meeting of
December 7, 1999

Present: Simmons, Chaudry, Lee, Ruiz, Hardwig

Our last meeting of the semester was devoted to three topics.

1) We looked at the Policy Recommendations for Non-Traditional Students, in draft form, and some information that Sherrie Streng had forwarded to us about the numbers of such students entering the College this fall.

2) We considered the draft of the Policy Recommendations for Internships and made several changes in that document.

3) We looked at the Assessment Plan for Intensive Learning and made several changes in that document, which now will be forwarded to a subcommittee of the Strategic Study Committee for SACS.

4) We will look once more at the three Policy documents at our first meeting next semester, i.e. Independent Studies, Internship, and Non-traditional Students, and then send all three on the FAC and the appropriate standing committees of the faculty for their action.

We will wait to schedule our spring meeting time until January, when we know everyone's block schedules for sure. Expect an email in that regard early next year! Our main task will be to develop courses for May of 2001, so we can forward them to Curriculum Committee either late this spring or in early fall of 2000.
