The committee met and discussed the issue of the amended purpose statement (amended by the faculty at its last meeting). Charlene Kalinoski, Faculty Moderator, informed the group of the process she is following in considering the possible procedural problems related to the faculty's amendment of the purpose statement. She is working with FAC and a local group with expertise in parlimentary procedures to make a ruling on how to proceed.
Hans Zorn will chair the Institutional Purpose Committee during the spring 2000 term while Leslie Lambert is on sabbatical. The committee will align the Institutional Goals and the Curriculum Goals with the purpose statement.
