1. CCLS 201 update:May have a "renew the motion" proposal to re-raise the question for anew vote.Faculty Meeting on Tuesday, April 18 (after our last All-Freshman event).Reduce hours from 30 per term to 15 per term?All-Freshman event will be Monday, April 10:Could ask at the meeting if students are interested in taking CCLS 201. Would need to explain the advantages of taking CCLS 201. All (probably) Maroon Corps members should take CCLS 201.
2. Next meeting with freshman advisors:Main purpose is to get feedback on April All-Freshman event, for planningfor next year.Thursday, April 13 at 12:05 in Crawford Formal Lounge.After "Earthbound" Convocation.Pizzas, etc. to be available.Ben to get lunch reservations.
3. CCLS 102 assessment:We plan to have the following available at the All-Freshman event on Monday,April 10:CCLS 102 assessment instrumentService attitudinal surveyIndication of interest in taking CCLS 201 All will be in the packet of materials for the faculty advisors,probably set out on their tables. Survey instruments to be devised by Gail, Ben and Bill, With help fromDan Larsen.
4. Focus groups:We will ask Greg Weiss to convene one or more focus groups of freshmen toget their views on CCLS.
5. Agenda for All-Freshman Event: Monday, April 10, Bast Gymnasium, 12:40 - 1:20. Gail McKee - reflections on leadership. Paul Henrickson - reflections on service. Will need to use Jack Hartman for sound system. Surveys, mugs, etc., at each table. Lunch: pizza (Dominoes special), salad, drinks, dessert.
5. Closing the loop - planning for improvements:We need to review all items on both Student and Faculty Advisorsurveys. Gail will provide a summary in increasing order of acceptance, so wecan look at the most criticized items first. We need to make any additions to the proposed actions. We need to prioritize possible actions and send our recommendations onwhich to implement to the Strategic Committee. We will then make changesover the summer for next year's CCLS program.
6. When?We will have a SPECIAL MEETING of the CCLS Task Force on Monday, April 10 at 6:00 pm in Crawford Formal Lounge.Dinner will be provided.Please plan to come and help us finish this task for the year.
