Co-Curricular Learning & Service Task Force

Minutes of the Meeting of
April 25, 2000

Present: Gail McKee, Kellie Bryan, Mark Lejeune, Mark Petersen, Paul

Discussed "Recommendations for CCLS Program AY 2000-2001"

1. Block Sessions

Have PowerPoint presentations available for some sessions?
or materials on the network?
or case studies?
or teaching modules in a text book?

2. Options
Important to have some options.
Important to have some consistency.

3. Alternatives to the Reflection Paper
Advisors may select other options, but reflection paper probably the most favorite.
Let's not make a decision until we see what reflection papers looklike this term.

4. Incentives (not discussed.)

5. Standards and Guidelines

Need to have standards and guidelines for
attendance
phys ed activities
etc.
But also need to give advisors some flexibility. To be discussed further at tomorrow's freshman advisor's meeting.

Other:

We should let this year's freshmen know that we listened to their concerns and made changes.(How?)

We are using our vast judgment (or in some cases half-vast judgment) to make improvements to the CCLS program (and perhaps change it to a half-vast program).
