Leslie reviewed the recent steps involved in the revision of the Institutional Purpose. The Committee has made modest revisions in its last draft. The "alternate" statement has been withdrawn. Another "alternate" was submitted, albeit at the very last minute. It was circulated to the Committee, but no one wished to pursue it.

Greg will present the recommended Statement to FAC at its next meeting. The Statement will be sent out with the announcement for the next faculty meeting. A member of FAC will move for its endorsement by the faculty. Charlene will moderate the discussion, and Leslie will be the point person for answering questions. Faculty sentiment will be shared with the Board before its next meeting in February at which time the Board will take final action on the Statement.

The Steering Committee expressed its appreciation to Leslie for her considerable efforts in this process and for the fair and inclusive approach that she took throughout the process.
