The meeting began at 1:00 p.m.
The Statement of Purpose for CCLS was discussed, and several revisions were made.
The Objectives were discussed. The Committee agreed to omit the process objectives from the document in order to concentrate on the outcomes objectives for students. Some changes were made, but the committee will further reflect on and discuss the objectives (especially the wording in #2).
The Committee briefly discussed assessment mechanisms that will need to occur at the beginning of the academic year.
(1) The Survey for Co-Curricular Program that was administered in 1998 will be repeated during the orientation period.
(2) Greg will select a panel of students (one or two from each group) who will serve as a continuing focus group throughout the academic year. The focus group will be used to trace student experiences and reactions in the CCLS program.
The Committee will meet next during the first full week of classes (Greg will notify everyone).
