Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center currently has an opening for a Engineering Management Intern.
Interns will participate in a 2-year formal training and development program designed to provide them with important skills and competencies to progress to the position of Engineering Management in the Facilities Management Service (FMS).
Interns who successfully complete the training will be eligible to apply for full-time positions in the field or can be placed non-competitively in a position as Boiler Plant Operator in the FMS.
FMS plays an important role in the success of the VA by providing a safe, sanitary, and enhanced environment for those that have served and for those who in-turn serve them. As a trend setter (not a trend follower) FMS provides management and leadership in the care of a medical facility's environment. The specialized training and guidance provided by experts in the field affords great people like you the opportunity to excel in the advancement of your career.
Pay scale depends on competence of the position. Ranging from $30,772/yr to $46,625/yr with Federal Employee Benefits:
- 10 paid Federal holidays
- 13 to 26 days of paid annual leave (personal/vacation)
- 13 days of paid sick leave per year with no limit on accumulation
- Tuition reimbursement programs
