Assistant Professor of French
Description
Applications are invited in anticipation of a position for an Assistant Professor of French. Tenure track. Ph.D. in French required, with native or near-native fluency. Responsibilities include teaching all levels of French language, advanced grammar and composition, literature and culture. Generalist with a specialization in 19th/20th centuries French and Francophone. 3/3 teaching load. Commitment to and evidence of excellence in undergraduate teaching; interest in computer-assisted language learning an asset. Willingness to design and lead occasional May study-abroad courses. Must have ability to promote foreign language study successfully, excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within the department, scholarly potential, and commitment to continued professional growth.
