Job Title

Assistant Professor of Business Administration

The Business Administration Program at Roanoke College seeks to hire a full-time, tenure-track faculty member effective August 2013.

The primary teaching responsibilities are for undergraduate courses in the Entrepreneurship, Leadership, and Human Resources Management areas. The standard teaching load is 3 courses per semester with an Intensive Learning May term taught every third year.  However, the successful candidate will have a strong interest in directing programs and will receive reassigned time to direct our Center for Leadership and Entrepreneurial Innovation and direct the associated summer program, the Roanoke College Innovation Challenge.  The ideal candidate will possess an aptitude for developing additional programs in entrepreneurship and leadership that will benefit both business students and students from across the campus.

The successful candidate will hold a PhD or ABD status, have a passion for teaching undergraduates in a liberal arts setting, and exhibit the leadership qualities necessary to direct a program. Evidence of highly effective classroom teaching is required. A program of research with potential to publish in peer-reviewed outlets is expected.

We will be conducting interviews at the Decision Sciences Institute meeting in San Francisco. To be considered for an interview, interested applicants should apply online through the job board. Please include a cover letter, CV, evidence of teaching effectiveness, and names of references (or letters of recommendation) by November 10, 2012.
