Director of Prospect Management and Research
Roanoke College seeks a full-time Director of Prospect Management and Research. This position is responsible for identifying, researching, and managing prospects for annual, major, planned, and special project gifts. The Director will have a key role in campaign planning and strategic engagement of individual, corporate and foundation prospects. He or she will also be responsible for integration of research into fundraising processes, development and implementation of best practices, and negotiation for and application of contracted services. As a member of the Operations team, the Director will report to the Assistant Vice President of Resource Development.
Candidates must have exceptional attention to detail, as well as strong analytical and communication skills. He or she must be able to professionally and positively interact with College staff and volunteers at all levels. The successful candidate will have an innate ability to prioritize multiple projects and to anticipate division needs and proactively identify solutions. An ability to work independently, confidentially, and systematically is required. Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in traditional and new research methods and tools are required, as are proficiency in Microsoft Office products and database management. Candidates with experience in fundraising management are preferred. A Bachelor’s degree is required. This position requires occasional evening and weekend work.
