Visiting Assistant Professor of Music
Roanoke College invites applications for a one-year sabbatical replacement position in music. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to cover two courses in music theory (diatonic and chromatic harmony), one in history (survey of eighteenth through nineteenth centuries), one introductory course in music/anthropology (world music); and two additional courses from the college’s general education program depending on the applicant’s area of specialization. Course load is three courses per semester. The successful candidate will possess a solid research or performance record in a broad range of genres. Teaching experience beyond graduate assistantships is strongly desired, as is experience teaching in a liberal arts setting.
Ph.D. in musicology (and/or related fields) preferred; masters in music required.
