Crawford Hall
A coed freshman residence hall, this building opened in
the summer of 1964 as a women's residence hall. It was named
for Mr. Joseph E. Crawford, who served on the Board of Trustees
of Roanoke College for 28 years. He left $600,000 to the
college, which, at the time, was the largest gift of that
kind given to Roanoke College. He believed that independent
schools like Roanoke College were very important to the
preservation of our free heritage. |
