Style
Style is the particular manner of presentation that defines an artist, a period or a culture. It involves the formal (relating to form) choices that artists make to represent the visual world. Elements of style include composition, space, figures, colors, and light. Analysis of style is not simply descriptive. It traces the ways in which individual artists draw on their culture to create a personal mode of expression. It also determines how formal choices affect the messages that images convey.
