  • Music Departments Worldwide Yes, that's what this offers: a link to music departments the world over!
  • The College Music Society Home Page The College Music Society offers links to Web sites that might be of interest to its membership. These include sites on music, of course, but also visual arts, literature, education and media resources.
  • SMT Server: Boethius This is the site for the Society for Music Theory's online server. It includes links to its home at UC Santa Barbara, and the Music Theory Online journal.
  • SMT Virtual Poster Session This Society for Music Theory site offers a forum for sharing work in progress and/or techniques for designing effective pedagogical and research presentations on the Internet. This site is open to members of the Society who wish to demonstrate or learn about multimedia options for musical materials, including sound files, video, animation, Java Applets, Macromedia Director movies, and others.
  • Society for Ethnomusicology Founded in 1955 to promote the research, study, and performance of music in all historical periods and cultural contexts. Multidisciplinary in concept and worldwide in scope, the society appeals to scholars, students, performers, publishers, museum specialists, and librarians from numerous disciplines.
  • generationM.usic Index This is the site for "generationMusic," a publication produced by graduate students in music theory, a site hosted by the University of Iowa.

  • ASCAP: The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers ASCAP is a membership society of over 71,000 active composer, songwriter, lyricist and music publisher members. Created in 1914, ASCAP provides the essential link between the creators of music and the users of music. This is the performing rights licensing organization in the United States, its Board of Directors comprises writers and music publishers elected by and from its membership.
  • Computer Music Journal Home Page Computer Music Journal (CMJ) is a quarterly Journal that covers a wide range of topics related to digital audio signal processing and electroacoustic music. It is published (as hard copy) by MIT Press and is now in its 21st year.
  • Sonances is designed as an international center of information about today's music. It contains an international survey of the cultural press, and information about art, literature, and cinema. The site is divided into three major sections: the international survey of the cultural press, the dictionary of composers, and the reviews pages. Material is added regularly. Articles and news are in English or French.

  • The English Server The English Server is a cooperative which has been publishing humanities texts online since 1990. Today it offers over eighteen thousand works, covering a wide range of interests. You are invited to read, search, send comments or texts, talk on the conference line or join the public mailing list.   • Prentice Hall Art and Humanities This site offers an introduction to art on the internet. Lectures, images, institutions, and instructions on creating and evaluating web pages in the arts and humanitites, are some of the things you'll find here.
