Math 131
Spring 2000
Homework #10
This is to be done in class on Friday, April 14. It is worth 10 points. You may discuss your work with each other as much as you like.
An essential part of mathematics and hence this course is pattern recognition. This assignment is to try to find patterns in the way that Dr. Minton chooses problems for tests. The underlying issue is one that can be successfully applied to any course: out of a large amount of information available, what is the most important information to master? Your answer may not always agree with your professor's, but the sorting and ranking of the material in a course needed to answer this question will almost always help you understand the material in the course better.
