Kelly was in the Pride of Salem marching band in 1998 , 1999 , 2000 and 2001
and the Salem High School Jazz Band in 2000-01 and 2001-02 .

Kelly marched and played the alto sax in 1998 and 1999, played a bass drum in 2000 and the marimbas in 2001. As a senior, she was drum captain and three-star general.
