RC Children's Choir

The Roanoke College Children's Choir has earned a national reputation for excellence. Between 1996 and 1998, they performed with Patti LaBelle, Mannheim Steamroller, LeAnn Rimes, and the U.S. Army Band at the National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, released their CD Christmas Joy and performed at Carnegie Hall. They appear regularly with the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra and choirs from around the world.

In 1998, the U.S. Army Band made a special visit to Salem for a joint concert with the choir. The Commander of the Band, Colonel L. Bryan Shelburne Jr., said, "In an age where everyone, adult and young person alike, has so many self-destructive options available to them, to see any group of young people that has chosen to do something challenging, to do something that teaches teamwork and work ethic and the ability to set long-range goals and work to achieve them, this is pretty fantastic."
