The Brackety-Ack

The Brackety-Ack, Roanoke College's student newspaper, got its name as a result of a contest offering a one-year subscription for the best name submitted. It was begun in 1915 and is published on a weekly basis during the school year. The entire staff is composed of students, from editor-in-chief to staff writers.

On Concept's Edge (Literary Magazine)

WRKE-LP in Salem, Virginia is a student run, non-commercial radio station licensed by the FCC to Roanoke College. Broadcasting from the college's Colket Center, non-commercial WRKE operates on a 24/7 schedule with live, locally produced shows as well as automated programming.  With a power output of 100 watts transmitting on 100.3 MHz, WRKE's signal covers Salem and parts of Roanoke and Roanoke County.
