Conference Call
Virginia Conference on Race The Center for Studying Structures of Race at Roanoke College invites submissions from undergraduate and graduate students to our 2nd annual Virginia Conference on Race (VCR), which provides a forum to showcase, share, and engage in discussions about scholarship on race studies and anti-racism activism. This two-day conference begins on Thursday evening, March 30th, with our keynote speaker Dr. Ernest McGowen III (University of Richmond). On Friday, March 31st, talented undergraduate and graduate students will present scholarship engaging diversity in a variety of contexts and through different theoretical lenses. We invite submissions from all academic fields, including but not limited to the arts and performing arts, sciences, social sciences, and humanities. Additionally, we welcome traditional research presentations, poster board submissions, art displays, short performances, short films, and other creative formats. We invite submissions on all topics connected to race studies. We especially encourage submissions that connect to this year’s theme, After/Math
