Summer Orientation

Overview

Even though the format has changed – you will be able to engage with a variety of new friends and learn virtually everything you’ll need to know about campus and Roanoke College. We are planning a series of interactive sessions that will help you examine who you are and what interests you have. After this summer’s orientation you will have:

A better sense of what makes you, you!
A sense of belonging to our community of Maroons!
A course schedule you’ve helped create and are excited about!

This event is designed for fall start, incoming freshmen. There is also programming for families.

Welcome to Summer Online Orientation! This event is designed for fall start, incoming freshmen and their families. All meetings are required for students.

Beforehand
Complete all forms, modules and other necessary steps for enrollment listed here. Especially, the module in Inquire called FYE Orientation.

All Zoom Links will be sent to the student RC email address by 8am the morning of Day 1 of their registered orientation session.

*Each student will be invited by a Summer Advisor to a 30 minute Advising Meeting. This meeting will be during one of the Advising blocks.

If a student does not have an Advising Meeting, these blocks of time are a chance to review material in Inquire, check your RC email, ask questions of your Orientation Leader, catch up with new RC friends, or relax!

Family Schedule

Roanoke College values the assistance parents, guardians, family and all supporters provide new first year students. We invite you to participate as your schedule allows.

Beforehand
A series of videos were created to inform you of resources available to you and your students. Our hope is that you review this content, discuss it with your student, and jot down a few comments or questions. Next, join us and your new student (you don't have to physically be with them) for 4 Live Panels on the day your student registered for. Links will be below.

Links
Zoom links will be sent to the emails on file with Admissions. They will also be sent to students to forward to whoever they feel needs to have them. Links will be sent at 8am on Day 1.
