How can I see how much debt I have accumulated?
Upon your graduation from Roanoke, the Financial Aid Office will supply you with a loan history delineating exactly what type and how much loan debt you have accumulated here at RC. There are also web-based resources that you can utilize as well, to get a clearer picture of your outstanding loan debt. The US Department of Education maintains that National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS), which is the central database for student aid.
How can I access NSLDS?
You can access NSLDS from the Department of Education Student.gov portal. This centralized database allows you to keep up with your accumulating debt. It also gives you the ability to check on information that is being reported to your school and to the federal government. It even enables you to learn how to correct the information if it is reported incorrectly.
How can I get access to NSLDS?
In order to have access to this information, you must have the following information:
- Your Federal Student Aid ID (FSA ID)
- Social security number
- Date of birth
- First two letters of your last name (as reported on the FAFSA)
