Senior Class Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I know if I classify as a senior at Roanoke College? 
A: To be classified as a senior, students must have earned 25 units of credit. 
     - To earn a bachelor’s degree, students must pass no fewer than 33 academic units (including at least one intensive learning experience) and two one-quarter unit Health and Human Performance activities (or the equivalent) for a total of 33½ units. A minimum of 17 of the academic units (excluding physical education) must be earned at Roanoke College.
     - Students must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0 in all courses.  In addition, students must meet the requirements for the Intellectual Inquiry Curriculum or the Honors Program Curriculum and for a major.  Students must earn a cumulative grade point average of at least a 2.0 in all core curriculum courses attempted  (Intellectual Inquiry or the Honors Program), as well as a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 in all courses attempted in a major.

A: The Senior Class Gift is an opportunity for all graduating seniors to leave behind a lasting legacy. Just as seniors before you, your gift, when combined with your classmates, will help future Maroons for years to come. You can give anything from $5 to $20.21. Every gift counts! All seniors who make a gift will receive a senior donor ribbon to wear at Commencement.
