Gift in Tech
Technology Gift Request
Technology equipment that is used by Roanoke College faculty, staff and students is updated on a rotating annual basis during the summer months. When this technology equipment no longer meets the needs of the College, we make it available to our community partners through our "Gift-In-Tech" Donation Program. This equipment may include functional desktop computers, monitors, keyboards, mice, printers, laptops, etc., that could be of value to our community partners.
The College accepts requests for "Gift-in-Tech" donations on an on-going basis throughout the year. Requests will be accepted from any private non-profit school, community service group or non-profit organizations covered by IRC Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Service. Preference is given to organizations that are partnered with Roanoke College through our Civic Engagements Office, but all requests will be considered based on the organization's need and availability of equipment.
Our goal is to start distributing donated equipment each year during the latter part of September, continuing through the middle of December. A Roanoke College staff member will work with organizations individually to schedule a time for them to retrieve their donated equipment.
The College does reserve the right to limit the amount of equipment donated to an individual organization each calendar year. Any transit costs, disposal costs, software licensing and installation services are the responsibility of the organization receiving the donation. At the time of retrieval, the receiving organization is required to sign a liability waiver form, of which they will receive a copy.
