Our Fellows and Student Leaders work with our Community Partner Organizations throughout the Roanoke Valley to offer a diverse range of service opportunities to students, giving them the chance to work within and better understand the community that surrounds our campus.

Blue Ridge Literacy

Blue Ridge Literacy was founded in 1985 by two librarians who wanted to address a need in their community. The mission of Blue Ridge Literacy is to support the achievement of life goals by providing opportunities to strengthen literacy skills for adults in western Virginia

A nonprofit social service agency in the Roanoke Valley that responds to the immediate needs of the Spanish-speaking community while providing people with the right tools and resources to have an impact on their lives, families and communities.

Family Promise

Family Promise works to address and overcome the causes of homelessness by providing full-time case management to families and helping them to create goals for employment, housing and education in their return to independence.

Feeding Southwest Virginia, founded in 1981, is a food bank that serves 26 counties and nine cities in the region. Roanoke College works with the facility located in Roanoke.

The Humble Hustle

The Humble Hustle Company empowers Black youth and connects diverse communities by creating innovative, inclusive spaces that inspire hope and promote giving. 

Rescue Mission

The Rescue Mission is a comprehensive crisis intervention center for men, women and children that offers life-saving services aimed at transformation and restoration. Volunteers serve breakfast, lunch and dinner 365 days a year.

The ReStore

Home improvement store and donation center that sells new and gently used items in order to support nonprofit Habitat for Humanity in the Roanoke Valley.

Roanoke College Garden
