Visiting Assistant Professor of Physics
Roanoke College invites applications for a one-year appointment at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor, starting in August 2022. The position is a temporary replacement due to a last-minute faculty departure. We will search for a tenure-track appointment to start in August 2023. The Visiting Assistant Professor would be encouraged to apply for that position.
Housed within the Department of Math, Computer Science, and Physics, the Physics program offers B.A. and B.S. degrees in physics, as well as a minor in physics. Evidence of, or potential for, highly effective classroom teaching is required. Duties will include teaching introductory physics, physics lab, and potentially junior level courses chosen to match the candidate’s expertise. Preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.D. in physics or a closely related field; ABD will be considered.
