Leadership Opportunities

The Colleges offers a variety of student leadership opportunities with an emphasis on diversity & inclusion. Students can be part of an executive council, create events, or attend conferences. 

BonD Pre-Orientation Program
Current students are invited to be mentors to new incoming Roanoke College students for this pre-orientation program.

January 10-13, 2019

Sponsored by the Bryant Educational Group, this conference has three simultaneous experiences (African American Student Leadership Experience, Asian American, Pacific Islander Leadership Experience & Chicano, Hispanic, Latino Leadership Experience) that cross-over throughout the weekend. This conference forces attendees to think critically about what makes a successful leader. Held in Washington DC, OMA attends this conference annually.

Ripple Conference
February 15-17, 2019

This is a conference dedicated to empower and inspire interfaith student leaders. This conference is held at Elon University and Chaplain Bowen and OMA take a group of students each year.

Spring, 2019

Held by the University of Richmond, Q-Summit is a one-day experience dedicated to discussions, connections, and actions, centered around LGBTQ justice and racial justice. It is for southern queer youth, ages 17-25.

The Midwest Bisexual Lesbian Gay Transgender Asexual College Conference (MBLGTACC) is an annual conference held to connect, educate, and empower queer and trans+ college students, faculty, and staff around the Midwest and beyond.
