Undergraduate Research Assistants Program (URAP)
The Undergraduate Research Assistants Program (URAP) paired incoming freshmen with Roanoke College professors to work on a research project during their college career. The program has been recently replaced by the Research Fellows program (one of many Fellows programs).
Here's how the process works: Interested students review the list of possible research projects and apply to the research fellows program; if selected, the student can select a faculty mentor; and, finally, the match is made, a match that, again, can last four years.
Research Fellow professors seek students who are not just "smart" but who are "enthusiastic" and "conscientious" to participate in undergraduate research. Do these labels fit you? Are you up for the challenge of research?
