Ceremonial Reading of Names

During the day on Friday, April 4, leading up to the dedication of "Authors and Architects," various Roanoke College community members will take turns reading the names of formerly enslaved people at the college. Most of those same names are embossed on the memorial, which is meant to honor and recognize the contributions of those individuals to the growth of the school. Please swing by the memorial site, located across from Roselawn, to hear some of these names as they are spoken aloud.
