Pi Lambda Phi Fraternity, in partnership with the Center for Leadership and Entrepreneurial Innovation, invites you to an entertaining evening to learn from one of the film industry’s leading directors of movies that capture pivotal moments in American history. Ron Maxwell, a well-known filmmaker and director, will share his passion for producing authentic films that tell moving stories about our country’s past. He will discuss business aspects required for making movies, including how to lead a film production, ethical decision-making and the power of teamwork.
Maxwell, a graduate of the NYU Film Institute, has been writing and directing films for more than 40 years. He is best known for writing and directing several American Civil War epics, including “Gettysburg,” “Gods and Generals” and “Copperhead.”
Maxwell is a member of the Writers Guild of America, the Directors Guild of America and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

“Copperhead” is a film based on a Civil War novel by Harold Frederic that tells the story of Abner Beech, a farmer from Upstate New York who defies his neighbors and government in 1862. The film will be followed by a question and answer discussion with director, Ron Maxwell.
